Rensselaer - Thomas Jay Forte, 62, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, February 11, 2026.

Born in Albany in 1963, Thomas was the son of Thomas and the late Elaine Forte. He was raised in Rensselaer and graduated from Rensselaer High School. Thomas went on to build a dedicated career with Capital Cardiology, where he worked faithfully until his retirement.

Tommy was a devoted son, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin, and friend. Though he felt that being called Tom was more fitting at his age, he will always be endearingly known as "Tommy" by his family.

Above all, the title of Uncle was his favorite. His unconditional love for his niece and nephews was unmatched. He attended every sporting event, concert, graduation, and never missed a birthday celebration. For years, he embraced his role as the family's after-school chauffeur, treasuring the time spent together.

Tommy was artistic and creative, if you gave him a vision or an idea, he could bring it to life. He enjoyed playing cards and bingo with friends. Quiet by nature, he was nevertheless always ready to lend a hand, especially when it came to planning parties and celebrating holidays. It is fitting that we celebrate his life on what would have been his 63rd birthday, Valentine's Day. In his honor, we celebrate love.

He is survived by his father Thomas Forte; his sister, Diane (Dan) Dwyer; his niece and nephews, Casey, Matthew, and Jack Dwyer; along with extended family and friends who will miss him dearly. In addition to his mother, he was predeceased by his brother, Eric Forte.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Thomas's memory to Doors of Hope, 12 Mall Way, West Sand Lake, NY 12196.

Services will be held privately.
