Steven D. Rekemeyer

Averill Park- Steven D. Rekemeyer, 73, passed away on August 6, 2026, surrounded by his loving family at Albany Medical Center.

Born on August 11, 1952, Steve was the son of the late Donald Rekemeyer and Ann King. He attended Bethlehem High School and Hudson Valley Community College. Steve worked for Owens Corning in Delmar for 30 years, where he was an active union member.

Steve enjoyed riding motorcycles and tooling around in his Corvettes. He was a devoted Miami Dolphins and New York Yankees fan, as well as a longtime NASCAR and Dale Earnhardt enthusiast. More recently, he also became a fan of the New York Knicks.

In addition to his parents, Steve was predeceased by his beloved life partner, Mary E. (Gebhardt) Geary; and his brother, Thomas.

He is survived by his daughters, Samantha Rekemeyer (Justin Elliott) and Stephanie Rekemeyer (Ryan Peacock); his beloved grandchildren, Blake and Madelyn; and his sisters, Cheryl, Donna, and Cindy; as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Steve's Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m., on Friday, August 14, 2026, at St. Henry's Church, 39 Old Route 66 Averill Park, NY 12018. Inurnment will immediately follow in St. Henry's Cemetery
