Rensselaer- Richard E. Rafferty, Jr. passed away suddenly Wednesday, October 6, 2021 at Albany Medical Center. Ricky was born in Albany and was a lifelong resident of the city of Rensselaer. Ricky was an avid Steelers football fan and an overall sports fanatic but above all, he adored his children. Son of Anne Beebe and the late Richard E. Rafferty, Sr. Brother of Candace Campbell. Husband of Melanie Rafferty. Father of Richard III, Julian and Gemma Rafferty. Grandson of Shirley Beebe. Also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral from the W.J. Lyons Jr. Funeral Home 1700 Washington Avenue Thursday at 12 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to call prior to the service from 10-12PM. Interment will be in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, East Greenbush.
