Raymond Teator

Raymond A. Teator, Sr, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Monday, October 15, 2018 at his home. Art was born on March 6, 1933 in Albany, NY to the late Helen A. Szesnat Teator and Raymond D. Teator. He was predeceased by his brother, Richard Teator. Art was a proud veteran of the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict where he was Petty Officer 3rd Class. He drove for Greyhound Bus Lines, Yankee Trails Bus Company and the East Greenbush School District throughout his career. He spent his happiest times camping with his family at Thompson's Lake Campground every summer and playing cards and board games with his kids and grandkids and fishing and hunting. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Dorothy Riscavage Teator and their eight children Marie (Robert) Mitchell, Raymond Jr. (Susan) Teator, Karen (David) DeFruscio, Kathleen (Glenn) Niemitalo, Michele (William) Kayser, Sharon Dixon, Holly (Thomas) Coy and Michael (Judy) Teator. He is also survived by his 28 grandchildren, Rebecca (Michael) Peters, Tracey (Thomas) Neill, Robert Mitchell, Christina (Craig) Barry, R. Joseph (Christina) Teator, Seth (Colleen) Teator, Matthew (Lisa) DeFruscio, Sarah and Kathleen DeFruscio, Lee (Sarah) Niemitalo, Sharon Niemitalo, Danielle (Tom) Kozaczuk, Trisha (Keith) Vecchione, Caitlin, Meghan, Erin and Micaela Kayser, Erica (Michael) Drinkwine, Emily Dixon, Allyssa (David) Graham, Andrew, Alexis, Abigail and Aiden Coy, Mia and Christopher Gil, Kieran and Reagan Teator. He is also survived by his 20 great-grandchildren, Addison and Carter Peters, Kylie and Jackson Neill, Mikaela Tucker, Zachary, Madaline and Nathan Barry, Lucas and Benjamin Teator, Dominic Teator, Liam and Emma Niemitalo, T.C. Ashline, Maeve and Jack Vecchione, Eliani, Lyla and Xavier Tolbert and Laila Forgea. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, October 20, 2018 at noon in Sacred Heart Church, 3 Catholic Way, Castleton-on-Hudson. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at W J Lyons, Jr. Funeral Home, 1700 Washington Avenue, Rensselaer, Saturday morning from 9 to 11am. Interment with full military honors will follow the Mass in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, East Greenbush.
