Castleton- Raymond E. "Randy" Joy, Jr. 64, of East Greenbush and Castleton-on-Hudson, passed away unexpectedly at home, leaving behind a lifetime of memories, laughter, friendship, and love that will forever be cherished by his family and friends.
Randy was a graduate of Holy Spirit School and Columbia High School, Class of 1981, and graduated from Schenectady Community College. Throughout his life, he was a hardworking man who held positions with organizations including Amtrak, HUD, and TSA.
Randy grew up enjoying Pop Warner football and Woodland Park, and his love of sports continued throughout his life. He enjoyed fishing, football, the New York Yankees, horses, and, of course, sharing a good beer with friends.
But more than anything, Randy loved people. He had a special place in his heart for the women in his life, his family, his friends, and his beloved dogs. He had a personality that could fill a room and a way of making people laugh when they least expected it.
Randy was always full of surprises. He loved a good joke - especially one played on family and friends -and his sense of humor will be one of the many things those who knew him will remember most.
He lived life in his own unique way, creating stories and memories along the way. Whether gathered around with family, spending time with friends, enjoying a football game, fishing, talking about the Yankees, or simply sharing a laugh, Randy knew how to make an ordinary moment memorable.
His unexpected passing has left a tremendous void in the lives of those who loved him. While his time with us was far too short, the laughter, stories, jokes, and memories he gave to others will live on.
Randy was predeceased by his father Raymond E. Joy, Sr.
He is survived by his mother, M. Jean Joy; his sisters Linda Joy and Lisa (Joe) Rupinski; his niece and nephew, Julia and Connor Rupinski; his step siblings, Laura Hartman, Kenneth (Kris) Barnes, Ellyson (Ethyn) Barnes, Diana (Marcello) Barnes; and many cousins and extended family members.
