Castleton - Raymond D. Baker, 79, passed away peacefully at St. Peter's Hospice on Wednesday, June 10, 2026. He was born on November 7, 1946, in Berea, Ohio, to the late Dean and Helen (Kalafus) Baker.

Raymond was a graduate of Syracuse University and proudly served his country in the United States Army, receiving an honorable discharge. He went on to work for the New York State Department of Taxation and Finance in the Corporation Tax Division, where he dedicated more than 30 years of service before retiring.

Raymond is survived by his fiancée and the love of his life of 21 years, Jean Salisbury-Elden; his brother-in-law, John Black; and his nephew, Gregory Black.

He was predeceased by his parents and his sister, Mary Ellen Black.

Raymond enjoyed many simple pleasures in life, including playing Texas Hold'em poker, following the New York Giants and Boston Red Sox, traveling, antiquing, and sharing dinners and adventures with Jean. He cherished the time they spent together and the memories they created over the years.
