Patricia "Patty" L. Ray-Romeo

Wynantskill- Patty Ray-Romeo, 61, of Wynantskill, NY passed away Sunday, August 2, 2026.

Born in Troy, NY on March 17, 1965, she was the daughter of the late John Bloomingdale & Evelyn (Barnum) Bloomingdale.

Patty graduated from St. Patrick’s school in Troy and Troy High School.

She worked at Bank of America, the Town of North Greenbush, NY., and most recently, was working for NY State in Unclaimed Funds as a Supervisor.

Patty was the beloved wife of Terry Romeo, Beloved Mother to Cody Ray and Grandmother to Addison Ray and Mia Francis. She was also sister to Debra Bloomingdale, Gayle Girvin, & Jan Bloomingdale Ammerman.

We all have many wonderful memories with Patty! Life on the lake with family and friends, bowling get togethers with family, camping, music, trips to N.C., Aruba and many other destinations.

Patty was so proud of her son Cody and the father he was to his daughter Addison. Spending time with Cody & Addison brought her much joy. She cherished time with Addison and looked forward to weekend sleepovers, making breakfast together and many other fun activities.

Patty, with help from Terry, hosted Thanksgiving and Christmas dinner with her family for many years. She was so proud of the special bond she had with her sisters and brother; Joanne, Deb, Gayle, Jan, and Johnny. Overnight occasions with her sisters included laughing, talking through the night, and little sleep. Singing harmony with her sisters started at a young age. If there was a karaoke contest, Patty would win it!

Patty was strong, kind, caring, & generous. Her smile would light up a room! Her passion for enjoying life was endless. If there was a fun event, Patty was a part of it! She was always there to help when it was needed.

Patty had lifelong friendships (Jean & Jimmy, Cindy, Kathleen, Julie & John, Bobby Jo & Randy, Paula, and Cheryl). This group of friends was extended family to Patty and has stayed together for many years.

Patty is survived by her husband Terry Romeo, her son, Cody Edward Ray, (Ashley McCann), Step-daughter, Angie ( Ed) Francis, her granddaughters Addison Ray & Mia Francis, her loving sisters, Debra Bloomingdale of Brunswick, NY, Gayle Girvin of Greenfield Center NY, Janice Bloomingdale Ammerman (Don)of Castleton NY and several loving nieces and nephews.

She is also predeceased by her first husband Edward Ray, her Mother-in-law, Jeanette Romeo, her sister Joanne Bloomingdale Jones and brother, John C. Bloomingdale.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with the family on Monday, August 17, 2026 from 4:00-6:00 p.m. at the W.J. Lyons, Jr. Funeral Home, 1700 Washington Avenue, Rensselaer. A service will be held at the funeral home the following morning, Tuesday, August 18th at 10 a.m. with burial immediately following in Brookside Cemetery, 280 Plank Road, Poestenkill.
