It is with great sadness that the family of Michael Garrigan announce his passing. Michael lost his courageous battle with cancer on September 12, 2022. He passed peacefully at home in the comfort of family.

Born in Albany, NY, Michael was predeceased by his father Edward F. Garrigan Sr. and his sister Susan Garrigan-Brooks. He is survived by his devoted mother Joan Culihan Garrigan. He was the loving brother of Edward F. (Madeline) Garrigan Jr., Maryalice Garrigan, Marthanne (Gregory) Gershman and Andrew J. (Amy) Garrigan. He is the loving uncle of Matthew (Amanda) Garrigan, Melissa (Jim) O’Brien, Sean Garrigan-Piela, Zachary D. Belokopitsky, Alexander Garrigan-Piela, Caitlyn D. Garrigan, Jeremy T. Garrigan and Nathan P. Garrigan as well as three great nieces and two great nephews.

Michael received a NYS Regents diploma in 1978 from LaSalle Institute in Troy, NY. Michael worked in sales and in Information Technology. He was fluent in several languages and liked to travel. He loved Star Trek, music and spending time with his family.

Funeral mass will be offered Saturday, Sept. 17, 2022, in St. John the Evangelist and St. Joseph’s Church Herrick Street, Rensselaer at 9:30 AM. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the W.J. Lyons Jr. Funeral Home, 1700 Washington Avenue, Rensselaer Friday Sept. 16 from 4-6PM. Interment will be in St. Agnes Cemetery, Lake Placid.
