Listen to Obituary

Kirkwood, NY-Mary Jane (Warrington) Stillman passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 7th, surrounded by the love of her family, at St. Peter's Hospice Inn in Albany, New York.

Born in Hudson, New York, Mary Jane was the beloved daughter of the late George and Delcia Warrington. She was raised in Niverville, NY with her older sister and brother, Kathy and Bobby, where she developed the kindness, strength, and spirited determination that comes from being a descendent of the Ouellette and Warrington families. Mary Jane challenged her parents often as a child of the sixties, sneaking off to Woodstock and traveling cross country as soon as she graduated from Ichabod Crane High School in 1968.

Life took a more conservative route when MJ met her husband of 36 years, James "Jim" Stillman. They lived most of their married life in Kirkwood, NY until his passing in 2012. Together they built a life filled with love, adventure, and unwavering devotion to one another.

Mary Jane retired from a fulfilling career at Simpson Milligan Printing and later joined her husband in owning and operating Pony Express Transport Service. Following Jim's passing, she continued to successfully operate the business until shortly before her own passing, a testament to her dedication, perseverance, and strong work ethic.

Mary Jane and Jim shared a passion for life and adventure. Together they enjoyed motorcycle riding, reading, scuba diving, and traveling. Their journeys took them throughout the United States and to destinations across Europe, New Zealand, Fiji, and Australia, creating countless memories and lifelong friendships. They also looked forward each year to spending their winters in Titusville, Florida, where they forged many lasting friendships that Mary Jane cherished throughout her life.

Above all else, Mary Jane treasured her family. She was a loving aunt and great-aunt who delighted in celebrating life's milestones and spending time with those she loved. She will be remembered for her generosity, her stubborn streak, and the unconditional love she shared with family and friends.

Mary Jane was predeceased by her parents, George and Delcia Warrington; her beloved husband, James "Jim" Stillman; her brother, Robert (Patty) Warrington; her sister and brother-in-law, Katherine and Richard Rosbrook; her close cousin, Richard Cloutier; and her niece, Emily Warrington.

She is lovingly survived by her nieces and nephews, Kelly Rosbrook Firmbach of Kinderhook, Shannon Rosbrook (Steve Devine) of Melrose, Massachusetts, Robert Warrington, Jr. (Kristin Leonard) of Ghent, Colleen (Kevin) Bates of Valatie, Craig Warrington of Kinderhook, and Tracy (David) Abbott of Albany; and her cherished great-nieces and great-nephews, Mitchel Smith-Warrington, Jesse Warrington, Ryan Firmbach, Allyson (Zak) Russell, and Ava Warrington and her stepdaughters, Susan (David) Oney and Jeannine (Gerald) Cook. She also leaves behind her sister-in-law and dear friend, Brenda Warrington, as well as many extended family members, and treasured friends in both New York and Florida.

The family extends its heartfelt gratitude to the nurses and staff at St. Peter's Hospice Inn for the exceptional care, kindness, comfort, and dignity they provided to Mary Jane and her loved ones during her final days.
