East Greenbush-Marion A. Stuarts, 98, of East Greenbush, passed away peacefully on September 20, 2025, surrounded by her family. Born on January 30, 1927, in Troy, she was the daughter of the late Albin F. Anderson and Marie Kundel Anderson. She was the beloved wife of the late Arthur Stuarts III who passed away in 1988.
Marion was a graduate of Troy High School and Troy Business College. After college she worked as a secretary for the American Red Cross, then spent two years as a stenographer in the Attorney Generals Office, Dept. of Law in Albany. She was a stay-at home mom until returning to the work force in 1965 as Health Services Secretary for the East Greenbush Central School District where she remained for twenty years.
She was a lifetime member of St. John's Episcopal Church in Troy, serving as a member of the Altar Guild for many years. She also volunteered at the thrift shop and assisted with other office duties.
For over 20 years Marion and Art enjoyed spending their summers and winters at their lake-front camp in the Adirondacks. Marion continued her summers there for another 28 years after her husband's passing, where family and friends frequently joined her.
She enjoyed snowmobiling, golfing and bowling for many years, as well as knitting, sewing and cross-stitch.
In addition to her parents and her husband, Marion was predeceased by her brothers, Rev. Albert Anderson and Ronald Anderson; and her sister Marie Montgomery.
She is survived by her children, Lynn (the late Jim) Montanye of New Bern, NC; Donna (Bobby) McGee of East Greenbush; Art (Josie) Stuarts IV of Rensselaer. She is also survived by her brother Paul (Ann) Anderson of Dublin, CA; 10 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with the family on Thursday, September 25, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the W.J. Lyons Jr. Funeral Home, 1700 Washington Avenue, Rensselaer. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, September 26 at 11:00a.m. at St. John's Episcopal Church, 146 First Street, Troy, 12180.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. John's Episcopal Church.
