Troy-Lawrence W. Bailey, age 79, formerly of Niagara Falls, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, at St. Peter's Hospital, surrounded by his loving family, after a lengthy illness. He was born in Niagara Falls, in 1946 to the late Carl and Angela Bailey. Over the course of his life, he also resided in Lockport, NY and Easton, PA.

Lawrence earned a bachelor's in social psychology from the University of Nebraska and went on to enjoy a long and meaningful career in Human Resources, where he was respected for his professionalism and integrity. In his later years he was an associate at Walmart in Rensselaer.

Lawrence proudly served in the Peace Corps, volunteering in Brazil, where he met the love of his life, Bernadete. They shared 53 years of marriage, marked by devotion, partnership, and family.

A faithful member of St. Michael's Roman Catholic Church in Troy, Lawrence was also a member of the Knights of Columbus. He was an avid reader with a deep love of history, a devoted husband, and a loving father. He remained deeply grateful for the unwavering support of his brothers and sisters throughout his illness.

In addition to his wife Bernadete, Lawrence is survived by his son, Carl; his sisters Martha Swinson (James) and Eileen Sax (Leonard); and his brothers Raymond "Bud" Bailey (Sylvia), Douglas Bailey (Kim), and Steve Bailey.

Along with his parents, he was predeceased by his sister Geraldine Cindric and her husband James "Zeke".

Services will be held at a future date in April in Lawrence's hometown of Niagara Falls, where he will be laid to rest alongside his parents, in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lewiston, NY.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Lawrence's name to St. Michael the Archangel Church, 175 Williams Road, Troy, NY 12180, or to Shriners Hospitals for Children, P.O. Box 1525, Ranson, WV 25438.
