Judith B. Ernye

November 8, 1946 — January 28, 2024

North Greenbush- Judith B. Ernye, age 77, passed away on Sunday, January 28, 2024. Judith was born in Albany and was the beloved daughter of the late Forrest and Frances (Longtemps) Benjamin and daughter in law of Steven and Lucy Ernye of Defreestville.

Judith, known affectionately as Jude, dedicated her life to helping others. Her warm smile and kind demeanor brought comfort to countless individuals.

Jude had a passion for holistic medicine and was a certified Reiki teacher. She firmly believed in the power of alternative therapies and sought to share her knowledge with others. She always strived to find natural healing methods to support the well-being of those around her.

Jude possessed a vivacious spirit and had a deep appreciation for music. She delighted in the sounds of 70's music and classic rock, with a special fondness for the Beatles. Her love for these timeless melodies brought joy to her heart and comfort to her soul.

With an honest and straightforward nature, Jude was known as a straight shooter. Her authenticity endeared her to all who knew her, and she had a knack for making everyone feel comfortable and accepted in her presence. Her vibrant personality drew others to her, and many friends became like family throughout the years.

Jude was a devoted wife to her beloved husband, Guy Ernye, with whom she celebrated 56 years of marriage filled with love, laughter, and partnership. Their journey began on a blind date in 1967, and from that moment forward, they built a life together, supporting and cherishing each other every step of the way.

Left to cherish her memory are her son, Sean Ernye, daughter-in-law, Amy Ernye, and dear friend Kim Brown. Judith's love for her family was immeasurable, and she treasured every moment spent with her loved ones.

The family invites relatives and friends to honor and celebrate Judith's life on Friday, February 2, 2024, from 4-6pm at the W.J. Lyons, Jr. Funeral Home, 1700 Washington Avenue, Rensselaer. A funeral service will follow at 6pm. Burial will be held at Our Lady of Angels Cemetery in the spring.
