Joseph A. Schepisi, Jr.

North Greenbush - Joseph A. Schepisi, Jr., 82, of North Greenbush, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, April 14, 2026.

Born in Albany, Joe was the son of the late Joseph A. Schepisi, Sr. and Carmella (Perna) Schepisi. At a young age, Joe proudly enlisted in the United States Army, serving his country with honor. Following his military service, he continued his lifelong commitment to his community as a dedicated mail carrier with the United States Postal Service, where he worked for 37 years. He was also a member of the Melvin Roads American Legion Post.

Joe had a deep love for sports and was a devoted fan of the Mets, Giants, Celtics, and Rangers. He especially cherished time spent traveling with his beloved wife, JoAnn, creating lasting memories together.

He is survived by his loving children, Craig (Renee), Joseph III (Jeanie), and Robin (Bill); his cherished grandchildren, Nicole, Danielle, Schuyler, Josh, Jordan, and Peyton; and his sister, Rosemary. Joe was eagerly anticipating the arrival of his great-granddaughter, Lyla Rose, who is due to be born in three weeks.

Along with his parents, Joseph is predeceased and is now reunited with his beloved wife JoAnn (Sakkestad) Schepisi. 

Joe will be remembered for his dedication to his family, his service to his country and community, and the joy he found in life’s simple pleasures.

Family and friends are invited to visit with Joe’s family on Friday, April 17, 2026 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the W.J. Lyons Jr. Funeral Home Inc, 1700 Washington Ave, Rensselaer. A funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. Burial will immediately follow in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, 3rd Avenue Extension.
