Jean E. Cicio

East Greenbush-Jean "Jeanie" Cicio, 80, of East Greenbush passed March 21, 2026 at Albany Medical Center after a brief illness surrounded by family. Born in Mt. Vernon, NY, she was the daughter of Elizabeth Olson Marino (Edwin Marino) and Gaspare Cusmano.

Jeanie grew up in Rocky Point, NY where she met her soulmate, Frank, while waitressing at the Sugar Bowl. They settled in East Greenbush in 1974 to raise their family.

She enjoyed building her career over the years owning her own beauty shop, waitressing at Rick's Lounge and the East Greenbush Diner before earning a real estate brokers license while working with her husband at Club East Fitness. She eventually found her dream job as a supervisor at Regeneron before retiring in 2006.

Jeanie had many interests including reading, writing, gardening, swimming, needlework, crafting, crosswords and was an avid watcher of Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy. Everyone knew not to call her between 7-8pm!

She looked forward to going to the East Greenbush Library & the Senior Center where she met many new friends. She loved attending her Embroiderers' Guild of America meetings and their retreats.

Jeanie will be deeply missed by her daughters, April (Kenneth) Kozlowski and Dawn Cicio; cherished grandson Kyle Kozlowski, and her loving sister April Marino (Faris Rudd), along with her many in-laws, cousins, nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly. She also leaves behind many friends and neighbors from New Road and the Summit at Eastwyck.

Predeceased by her parents, the love of her life & husband Frank Cicio, and her wonderful brothers Randall Cusmano, Wayne Cusmano, Bryan Marino & Gregg Cusmano.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with the family on Saturday, April 11, 2026 from 1-3pm, at the W.J. Lyons, Jr. Funeral Home, 1700 Washington Avenue, Rensselaer. A funeral home service will follow at 3pm.
