James J. Reith

June 19, 1937 — June 5, 2023

East Greenbush- James J. Reith, age 85, passed away on Monday June 5, 2023, at The Hospice Inn at St. Peter’s Hospital. Jim was born in Albany and was the son of the late John and Sarah (Ford) Reith. James served his country honorably in the Air Force until his discharge in 1964. He later went on to work as an electrician for NYS OGS until his retirement in 2000.

Jim enjoyed golfing and bowling, but he especially loved camping on Alpine Lake with his wife.

Jim is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Patricia A. (Nicholson) Reith and many nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed.

He is predeceased by his 8 siblings, John Reith, Veronica Devine, Frank Reith, Anne Fredericks, Eileen Commerford, Marion Allison, William Reith, and Jean Vaughn.

Relatives and friends are invited to a graveside service on Thursday, June 15, 2023 at 11:00AM in Calvary Cemetery, 481 Route 9W, Glenmont.

The family would like to thank Dr. Sokol, Dr. Roccario, Dr. Dudek and Dr. Walders for the care and concern shown to Jim and his family.
