Albany-James E. Earley, age 87, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on May 31, 2025. He was born on June 23, 1937, to Harry and Dorothy (Tyrell) Earley, James lived a life marked by service, dedication, and deep love for his family, faith, and community.

James honorably served his country in both the United States Army and the United States Coast Guard. Following his military service, he built a fulfilling career with H.A. Coleman Electric in Albany and later Schenectady Hardware and Electric. He was also a proud member of IBEW Local 236.

Rooted in faith and community, James was a devoted member of All Saints Catholic Church in Albany, a member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians Division 5 (A.O.H. 5), and a longtime supporter of the Rensselaer Boy Scouts.

James was an avid car show enthusiast and loved classic automobiles. His eye for craftsmanship echoed in all aspects of his life, reflecting a personality rooted in generosity, warmth, and pride in a job well done.

James is survived by his beloved wife, Mary Lou Earley; daughters, Eden Earley-Mosher (Harold) and Sue Kresge; and cherished grandchildren, Crystal Vail, Amstel Hartum, Aarron Mosher, and Jordan Mosher. He was a loving uncle to Jeanni Liberty and Barb Whitcher, and is also survived by many dear cousins, including Marylou (Jerry) Albert.

He was predeceased by his sister, Marie Oakes; his son, Bobby Kresge; nephews Ray, David, and Keith Oakes; and granddaughter, Amber Vail.

The family extends heartfelt thanks to Bob Bobonia, Tom McCarvill, and Eleanor Ryan for their enduring friendship, care, and support.

James's legacy of kindness, loyalty, and enthusiasm will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

Relatives and friends are invited and may visit with the family on Thursday, June 5, 2025, from 4-6pm at the W.J. Lyons, Jr. Funeral Home, 1700 Washington Avenue, Rensselaer. A funeral home service will be held the following day, Friday at 10:30 am at the funeral home. Burial with military honors will be bestowed at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville, immediately following at 12:30pm.
