East Greenbush - Irene Daoust-Coyne, age 93, peacefully entered her eternal rest November 16, exactly as she wanted; at home surrounded by family. In her youth, she attended St. John's Academy. She spent many years living with and helping her mother in Rensselaer. She was an active communicant of St. John the Evangelist & St. Joseph's Church in Rensselaer. She worked and enjoyed an early retirement from NY Telephone. She enjoyed golfing, bowling, camping, and spending time with her family.
Having no children of her own, she considered all 45 nieces and nephews and 66 great nieces and nephews, and many more great-great nieces and nephews her children. If you were one of the lucky ones to be local to her, she parented you as her own, even if you were already grown.
At age 69, she married the love of her life William Coyne, who predeceased her earlier this year. She was predeceased by her parents Alfred & Deneiges, her eighteen siblings, Rita Bigelow, Alfred Daoust, Edward Daoust, Yvette Cusick, Marie Ladouceur, Yvonne Scully, Gerard Daoust Sr., John Daoust, Theresa Daoust, Raymond Daoust, Herbert Daoust, Roger Daoust, Wilfred Daoust, Annette Braman, Ernest Daoust Sr., Franklinette Motler, Bernard Daoust Sr., and Ronald Daoust Sr.
Survived by her sister-in-law Patricia Daoust of CA and many, many nieces and nephews. The "Cousins by the Dozens" would like to thank Chaunta & Deneiges for caring for her and allowing Aunt Irene to fulfill her wish of transitioning to the afterlife at home.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with the family on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, from 4-7pm at the W.J. Lyons, Jr. Funeral Home, 1700 Washington Avenue, Rensselaer.
