Henry Bruns

Schodack- Henry G. Bruns, Sr. passed away Thursday August 24, 2017 at St. Peter's Hospice Inn. He was born in the Bronx to the late Henry and Catherine Bruns and was employed as a New York City Policeman and worked in security for Met Life. Mr. Bruns had 28 years combined service in the US Navy, US Coastguard and the US Army National Guard. He loved fishing, hunting, Saratoga Racetrack, casinos, luxury cars and spending time with his grandchildren. Predeceased by his son Henry G. Bruns, Jr. He is survived by his wife Dolores Bruns, daughter Barbara Bruns-Squires (Todd), daughter-in-law Michelle Bruns, sister Audrey Kellner, nieces Marlene Kellner and Loretta Rosette (Glenn), 5 grandchildren Colin, Ryan and Layla Squires, Isabella and Jared Bruns and many loving cousins. The funeral mass will be offered Wednesday morning at 9:30 at the Church of St. Mary at Clinton Heights and calling hours will be at the W. J. Lyons Jr. Funeral Home, 1700 Washington Avenue Rensselaer Tuesday from 4-7 PM. Military Honors will be bestowed Tuesday evening at the funeral home at 7:00 to end calling hours.
