Frank D. Curcio

Frank D. Curcio, 100, of East Greenbush, NY, passed away on October 8, 2026 in Cape Coral, Florida. Frank was born in Brooklyn, NY, on January 22, 1926, to Pietro and Teresa Curcio.

Frank joined the U.S. Navy to fight in World War II and served on the LSM 201 landing Marines and materiel on Iwo Jima. He took great pride in serving his country in its time of need. After being honorably discharged following the war, he worked at odd jobs before becoming employed by the New York City Department of Sanitation. When he retired, he moved upstate New York to the Albany area. Not one to sit around and do nothing, Frank went back to work as a school bus driver for the Averill Park School District in Averill Park, NY, retiring at the age of 85 years old.

Frank's secret to a long life was to stay active (and drink Bud Light).

Right up until he had a stroke in January 2026, Frank remained independent, living alone, driving and doing his own errands. He loved going to casinos and betting on the horses. He also loved and took great pride in his large family.

Frank was predeceased by Doris (Peggy), his wife of 52 years, his daughter, Jo-Anne McFee and his grandson, Vincent Curcio. He is survived by his daughters, Suzanne (John) Kurtz and Leslie (Jerry) Fattorusso, his sons, Craig (Linda), Frank (Colleen) and Scott (Gloria) Curcio. He is also survived by 18 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren. Also survived by several nieces and nephews.

The wake will be held at W.J. Lyons Jr. Funeral Home, 1700 Washington Avenue, Rensselaer, NY, on Sunday, October 25, 2026, from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. Services will be held at St. Michael the Archangel Church, 175 Williams Road, Troy, NY on Monday, October 26, 2026 at 10:00 a.m., followed by burial at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville, NY.
