Listen to Obituary

David W. Nolette, 69, of East Greenbush, New York, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, August 29, 2025, with his beloved wife Christine by his side, following a courageous battle with corticobasal degeneration. Dave was born in Albany, NY and was the son of the late William D. Nolette and Elizabeth Nolette, who survives him. He grew up in Rensselaer, NY, where he graduated from Rensselaer High School in 1975.

In 1976, Dave joined the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and completed basic training at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. He went on to serve honorably in the Army National Guard until 1982. It was during this time that Dave discovered his talent for electrical work, a skill that became his lifelong passion and career. For over 40 years, he owned and operated David Nolette Electric, serving the community with integrity, professionalism, and heart. A licensed electrician in the City of Albany, Dave was known for his generosity and ability to troubleshoot problems over the phone—always eager to help those in need.

Above all, Dave was a devoted husband, father, brother, and friend. He and Christine (McCabe) Nolette were high school sweethearts and celebrated 48 years of marriage filled with love, laughter, and partnership. Together, they raised three children who brought immense joy and pride to their lives: Jennifer M. Nolette of Truro, MA; Denise M. Nolette of East Greenbush, NY; and Daniel D. Nolette of East Greenbush, NY.

Dave’s deep love for his family extended to his beloved dog, Samantha, who brought 12 years of companionship and happiness to the household.

He is also survived by his siblings: Linda Squires, Beverly Trudell (Bob), John Nolette (Joanne), Joseph Nolette, and Teresa Blohm (Michael); as well as many cherished nieces and nephews who held a special place in his heart.

Dave was an avid outdoorsman, finding peace and adventure through hunting and fishing. He loved summers on Herring Cove and Race Point Beach in Cape Cod with his family—boating, swimming, fishing, and soaking up the sun. In later years, he enjoyed making memories with extended family on the beaches of the Outer Banks in North Carolina. Competitive by nature, Dave was always ready for a friendly challenge—be it catching the biggest fish, doing the most push-ups, or racing to the finish line.

The family wishes to express deep gratitude to the many people who helped Dave during his illness. Special thanks to Dr. Octavian Adam at Albany Medical Center’s Movement and Disorder Clinic for his compassion and expertise; to Sarah, his nurse and advocate, for her unwavering support; to the hospice team for their gentle care; and most especially to Danielle DeGiuseppe, who was a guiding light during the final 15 months of Dave’s journey. Her dedication, honesty, and compassionate care were a gift that the family will never forget.
