Daniel J. Cavanaugh

Rensselaer- Daniel J. Cavanaugh, age 78, passed away unexpectedly on February 18, 2023, at his home in Rensselaer.

Dan was born on January 14, 1945 to William J. and Virginia (Malone) Cavanaugh.

Daniel attended Averill Park Schools and lived most of his life in Snyders Lake. After high school, he had various jobs throughout his life, but his main two were Lane Construction and the North Greenbush Highway Department. Dan was also a veteran of the United States Air Force.

He loved to fish and also enjoyed classic cars, hunting, and motorcycles.

Dan is predeceased by his father, William and his mother Virginia, his sister, Sallyann (Cavanaugh) Gallacchi, and his brother Bruce Cavanaugh.

He is survived by his brother, Clark (Leslie) Cavanaugh, as well as beloved nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
