Albany-Constance Fenner McKeough of Averill Park and Burden Lake, died peacefully on April 5, 2023, at the age of 93. She was the beloved wife, of 58 years, of John M. McKeough Sr., devoted mother to five wonderful children, loving grandmother of eight, and great-grandmother of ten.
‘Connie’ was born in Utica, NY, to the late C. Lawrence and Kathryn Toy Fenner on August 24, 1929. She was raised in Albany where she graduated from Vincentian Institute, class of 1947. She continued her studies and graduated from the College of St. Rose, class of 1951, where she was a devoted alumna and voted to “Who’s Who” in American Catholic Colleges. She married the love of her life on September 8, 1951 and spent much of her time as a homemaker and a mother.
She loved children and did much baby-sitting. She enjoyed gardening and loved being at “Camp” on Burden Lake with her children and grandchildren, helping them learn to swim and waterski. She was a skilled seamstress, typist and cook. She was a lover of Rock’n’Roll music, especially when played by her own children. Connie was an avid Yankees fan. She loved chocolate and sweets and was happy to share with anyone she met. She was fashionable at all times. Connie was a faithful communicant of St. Henry’s Church in Averill Park, where she volunteered on several committees.
She is predeceased by her husband, John, her son, John Jr, and her brother Brian.
She is survived by her children; Tracey Olender (Stanley), Lawrence B. (Deborah), Kathryn M. Duncan (Sean), and James A. (Paula). She is also survived by her eight grandchildren; Jennifer (Aaron), Amanda, Amy, Andrew (Lindsay), Monica, Elizabeth (Garrett), Allie (Wes), and Kacey, as well as ten great-grandchildren; her daughter-in-law, Kimberly McKeough, and several Fenner and McKeough nieces and nephews.
A viewing will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, April 17, 2023 at St. Henry’s Church, 39 Old Route 66, Averill Park, followed by the funeral mass at 11AM. Interment will follow in St. Henry’s Cemetery in Averill Park.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or the American Cancer Society.
