Delmar – Carol S. Warner, age 87, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 10, 2025, surrounded by her loving family at Daughters of Sarah nursing facility in Albany, NY. She was born and raised in Buffalo in 1937 to the late Norman C. and Phyllis E. Schultz.
Carol graduated from Erie Community College as a Dental Hygienist and later earned her Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) degree after raising her family. She dedicated many years of service to the New York State Office for People with Developmental Disabilities in Gowanda.
Carol’s greatest joy came from the people she loved. She and her devoted husband, Kenneth G. Warner, shared a beautiful life filled with adventure, laughter, and unwavering support. They together raised their family in Sardinia, NY. Carol delighted in life’s simple pleasures: raising sheep, tending to her flower gardens, square dancing, word puzzles, card games, bonfires under the stars, and enjoying her chardonnay and chocolate. Upon retirement they enjoyed traveling before they moved to North Fort Myers, Florida.
Above all, Carol cherished her family. She was a deeply devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her love knew no bounds, and her home was always open — not just to family, but to the many foster children she and Ken welcomed with open arms and generous hearts.
Carol is survived by her children, Robert (Debora) Warner and Nancy (Gregory) Knox; her grandchildren, Matthew (Susie) Warner, Kate Ercolina, John Sprague, Jeffrey (Jane) Knox Lu, and Jennifer (Michael) Bodine; and nine treasured great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind many cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
Carol was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Kenneth, her parents, and her sister, Audrey Jacobs.
The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to the staff of Peregrine Senior Living in Delmar and Daughters of Sarah for their loving care and support.
Family and friends are invited to gather on Friday, May 16, 2025, from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m. at the W.J. Lyons, Jr. Funeral Home, 1700 Washington Avenue, Rensselaer. A funeral service will follow at 11:30 a.m. Carol will be laid to rest privately beside her beloved Ken at Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery.
