Rensselaer – Anthony O. Holloway, 53, of Rensselaer, passed away suddenly on Monday, October 6, 2025.
Tony was born on March 25, 1972, in Albany, to the late Ishmon and Queenie Holloway. He grew up in the city of Rensselaer and attended Rensselaer schools, where he enjoyed playing multiple sports including basketball, baseball, and football. One of Tony’s proudest moments was being part of the 1990 New York State Championship Basketball Team — a memory he cherished and spoke of often.
Tony graduated with the Rensselaer Jr./Sr. High School Class of 1990 and went on to take classes at Hudson Valley Community College and Schenectady County Community College. He later built a career in construction, working for various companies over the years. Tony was known for his strong work ethic and the camaraderie he shared with his coworkers.
A kind-hearted spirit, Tony was always quick with a smile, a fist bump, or a “what’s up” for friends and family. He made it a point to check in regularly with those he cared about.
Tony is survived by his daughter, Saige Roberts; his sons, Storm Holloway and Trevor Holloway; his brother, Jessie (Marie) Holloway; his sister, Marilyn (Isaiah) Holloway; nephews, Christopher (Maxine) Holloway and Miles Franklin; and his great-nephew, Jackson.
Tony was predeceased by his parents, Ishmon and Queenie Holloway.
